David Conklin

DAVID CONKLIN · Principal, Managing Broker

David's career at Renault & Handley began soon after graduating from San Francisco State with a dual degree in Economics and Geography. He started as a sales associate in 1989, representing tenants in leasing office and research & development space in Santa Clara County.

David enjoys the varied nature of his real estate career; serving a broad spectrum of property owners and tenants as a broker in lease and sale transactions, interacting with tenants, service providers and coworkers in a property management capacity, and the opportunities for creativity in developing and improving properties under management. 

David is an active member of the Father’s Club at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo and has served on the Board of Directors of the Fully Alive Community Church in Redwood Shores and League of Volunteers in Newark. David is also an active Board Member of Operation Starfish California, a non-profit organization which develops Christian service leadership skills in teenagers and young adults.

David belongs to the Association of Silicon Valley Brokers and is a Licensed California Real Estate Broker (Lic. #01036562).

Geordie McKee

Geordie McKee · Principal

Geordie is a true second-generation member of the Renault & Handley team having grown up around commercial real estate. His father, George McKee, joined Renault & Handley in 1966 and has been instrumental in the firm's success through the years.

Geordie has served as broker to a number of noteworthy clients and is active in all aspects of delivering Renault & Handley's services. Geordie negotiates lease and sale transactions, actively manages a portfolio of 1.3 million square feet of commercial and industrial space for numerous ownership entities, and oversees the development of new buildings and major tenant improvement projects on behalf of the firm’s clients.

Born and raised in Portola Valley and living now in Palo Alto with his wife and children, Geordie remains closely connected to the community. He is active in the Alumni Associations of both Menlo School, where he served as President in 2007-2008, and Stanford University (BA Economics 1986). At Stanford, Geordie was a member of the Varsity Tennis Team and competed on the NCAA Championship teams in 1983 and 1986. He joined Silicon Valley Bank as one of the original members of its real estate division in the late 80's. Geordie joined Renault & Handley in 1999.

Geordie belongs to the Association of Silicon Valley Brokers and is a Licensed California Real Estate Salesperson (Lic. #01257296).

Highlight: Developed and successfully preleased a retail building at 645 Ellis Street, Mountain View. Renault & Handley received the City of Mountain View's 2008 Mayor's Award for this development.

George McKee

George McKee · Principal

George McKee joined Renault & Handley as a broker in 1966, and as one of the early investment partners with Raymond Handley, George was involved in the development and leasing of much of the Renault & Handley portfolio. He also formed several joint venture partnerships of his own, and developed nearly 500,000 square feet of industrial real estate in Silicon Valley.

George’s thorough understanding of property development and the construction of industrial buildings for the high tech industry has been of tremendous value to Renault & Handley clients. His nearly 45 years in the Silicon Valley commercial real estate business makes him one of the most experienced and highly respected individuals in the industry.

George currently lives in Atherton and is involved in numerous local organizations, including the Hoover Institute at Stanford University and the Palo Alto Club.  Despite UC Berkeley being his alma mater, George is an avid booster of Stanford University athletics programs, particularly tennis and football.

Alice Holmes

Alice Holmes · Principal & CFO

Alice joined Renault & Handley in 1996 with an impressive resume in the financial and accounting industries. In her years after graduating from the Business School at Brigham Young University, Alice obtained both her MBA and CPA. She spent several years at Big 8 firm Deloitte and Touche performing audits, tax preparation and financial accounting analysis. Alice left Deloitte and Touche to become a partner in an accounting practice in Palo Alto, where she built a successful business and impressive client list.

Today, Alice manages the accounting department at Renault & Handley where she oversees all aspects including rent statements, financial reporting to clients, financial statement analysis, financial planning and forecasting for partner distributions, interfacing with our risk manager and insurance broker to insure optimal coverage and pricing for our clients, and partnership tax return preparation.

Alice regularly attends classes and seminars giving her the most current financial and accounting “best practices” while maintaining the active status of her Certified Public Accountant license. Her breadth of accounting knowledge and experience combined with her grasp of commercial real estate make her an invaluable resource to Renault & Handley and the clients we serve.

In the community, Alice has served on the boards of the Junior League of Palo Alto Mid Peninsula and the Mental Research Institute.

Cheryl Goodwin

Cheryl Goodwin · Principal & COO

Cheryl is resident and native of Palo Alto, having been born, raised and educated here. A graduate of Palo Alto High School, she maintains close ties to her classmates and community to this day. Cheryl joined Renault & Handley in 1973 and through the years has had many essential roles within the company, including property management, operations, accounting and lease administration. She was actively involved in the development of much of the original Renault & Handley-developed portfolio, working closely with Raymond Handley on the administrative side.

Today, Cheryl presides over the property management department at Renault & Handley, maintaining constant communication with both clients and tenants keeping them apprised of all pertinent issues concerning the properties. Her trademark is her meticulous follow-through in every area for which she has responsibility, from her diligent construction project administration work, loan servicing, partnership transfer accounting to even the most mundane tasks where she sees everything through to completion. Cheryl’s dedication to her work is exceedingly rare and her friendly and professional manner make her a key member of our team and a pleasure to work with.

In a special celebration held in Cheryl’s honor commemorating her 30 years at Renault & Handley, many former and current clients, partners and tenants attended to show their appreciation and support for her exceptional service through the years.

Leonard Ely III

Leonard Ely III · Agent

Leonard was born and raised in Palo Alto where he currently resides with his wife Mary and 8 year old son David.  He is a third generation Palo Altan whose great-grandfather, Ray Lyman Wilbur, was President of Stanford University. Leonard graduated from Menlo School of Business Administration in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance.

Leonard joined Renault & Handley in 2004.  Since receiving his license, he has been involved in numerous leasing transactions representing both owners and tenants. Most notably, Leonard represented Sand Hill Property Company in its purchase of an approximate three-acre site at 1300 El Camino Real in Menlo Park from Peery & Arrillaga.

An avid outdoors person, Leonard has visited the Everest Base Camp, climbed the Grand Teton and completed the 199 Relay from Calistoga to Santa Cruz twice. He especially enjoys downhill skiing and hiking.

Leonard is an active member of the Palo Alto Rotary Club, currently serves on the Board of the Palo Alto Junior Museum and is the Treasurer of the Walter Hays Elementary School PTA.

Earl Johnson

Earl Johnson · Agent

Earl Johnson graduated from San Francisco State in 1960, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology.  Before joining Renault & Handley in 1977, Earl spent several years in residential and industrial real estate sales, as well as nine years at The Bank of California as a Trust Real Estate Officer. 

Highlight:  With an associate, Earl assembled over 200 acres for Exxon Corporation in the Evergreen area of San Jose.

Earl has always enjoyed athletics, including basketball, body surfing and weight training. He is a member of the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, and is active in men’s bible study, working with youth groups and the Church’s prison ministry.

Norma Solis

Norma Solis, CCRM · Lease Administrator, AR/AP

A Silicon Valley native, Norma Solis has been with Renault & Handley since 2002. She has been in accounting for over 21 years, responsible for different facets in the fields of banking, manufacturing, and most recently, property management. She earned her California Residential Resident Manager License in 2008.

At Renault & Handley, Norma handles day-to-day lease issues, accounts receivable & accounts payable. She works directly with tenants and vendors in resolving any issues in a quick and satisfactory manner.

Marjorie Hartter

Marjorie Hartter · Brokerage & Property Management Assistant

A Silicon Valley native, Marjorie Hartter has worked at Renault & Handley since 2004. She was Program and Communications Director for a major food franchisee for over 22 years, responsible for marketing, publications, and managing sales and incentive programs.

At Renault & Handley, Marjorie coordinates the day-to-day brokerage administration and has property management responsibilities. She is our tenants' first point of contact and works closely with Renault & Handley’s facilities maintenance technician, coordinating vendors for scheduled site repairs and keeping tenants apprised of the progress. Follow-through is important to Marjorie and tenant and vendor questions or concerns are always handled with prompt, courteous efficiency.

Debra Hoon · Controller

Debra is our newest team member, joining Renault & Handley in December 2010. Born and raised in the Lake Texoma, Oklahoma area, she attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University majoring in Accounting and Business Administration. Debra began her Accounting & Human Resource career in 1982, working in property management, private club industry, electronics and manufacturing. Her 28 years of financial preparation, tax returns, budgeting, and human resource experience are shadowed by her customer service and interaction with tenants or clients with her cheerful demeanor when answering questions or providing financial information.

To say she was active during her high school and university years would be putting it mildly. Debra played the flute and drums, was a majorette in the marching band, 4-H, FHA, and was a Page in the House of Representatives for a month after her graduation in 1976.

Debra is a true sports fan of our Bay Area teams since arriving in July 1986. She played softball, volleyball, basketball for her high school as well as her alma mater SOSU. The first base position brought a Tri-State Championship to her softball career in the summer of her junior-senior high school years.

Miguel Montoya

Miguel Montoya · Maintenance Technician

Miguel came to Renault & Handley after many years maintaining facilities for SanDisk Corp. and Hewlett-Packard. He is responsible for all facilities maintenance field operations for Renault & Handley-managed properties.

Miguel supervises and interacts with vendors and subcontractors, conducts regular inspections of vacant and leased properties, performs light maintenance and is available as needed to all tenants of Renault & Handley-managed properties for their facilities maintenance needs.

Miguel is also available to provide facilities maintenance support to Renault & Handley brokerage clients.
